Hart Lake to Woomera military & rocket range. This is some of the remotest & desolate country we have seen & yet seems very beautiful to drive through. This is also the area of the atomic bomb tests in the fifties.
Pano, morning tea, not many trees here.
Same spot as above.
Flying doctor landing strip, on the highway.
Endless amounts of this.
The only hill anywhere, its man made, spanning the Adelaide, Darwin rail line.
And thats it.
The rail line along the shores of Hart Lake.
On the crusty salt of Hart Lake.

A train along the shores of the lake.
Sunset over the lake with our home in the foreground.
Heading back down to the lake next morning..
Lake.
Yes, it was quite cool.
The lake edge, the beach & the main line.
The shortcut under the line.
Inside.
Morning tea 7klm from Woomera.
Woomera, a surprisingly tidy & dust free town.
A very interesting place.
Heaps of interesting stuff.
Pano, as above.
Black arrow, satellite launching rocket.
Air to ground missile.

Canberra bomber.
This is a model of the rocket launch facility on the shores of Hart Lake on the opposite side of where we camped.
Inside the very interesting museum.
A very nice flower we walked past.
Town square at Woomera, all very nice but all the shops have closed up except a very basic grocery store, leaving a sad lonely feeling.
More stuff.
Stuff.
Plenty of great facilities but very few people.
A complex series of walkways allows access to every house in town without using the roads.
There are plenty of well maintained houses, but only about 1 in 10 are occupied, it gives a strange feeling.
There are also plenty of unoccupied accommodation units.
