Last entry for this trip.

A further 4 days have passed & it is early morning in Wondai, just a short hop from home.
We will be home later today. We covered 540 klms yesterday, which was more than enough towing a van. The express trip home has not been much fun with its endless daily driving, so only a few pics on this final entry. No more smart arsed comments or any sort of wrap up on the trip, just signing off.

We had to stop for this guy, he wasn't very smart.

I like feeding these argumentative fellows.

Pano of a very pleasant bush camp about 65 klms South of Bourke.

                                                                             As above.

                                                           Fred Hollows grave in Bourke.

                                                                              As above.

                                                                           As above.

                                                                    Info.

Saw plenty of these. heaps of kangaroos & millions of wild goats.

The wharf on the Barwon at Bourke.

                                                                           Underneath.

Wilpena Pound & Heading for home.

From Port Augusta to Wilpena in the Flinders Ranges, a stunning place. We climbed a mountain & had a good look around the ranges by car. Today we separated from Greg & Wendy to head home by the shortest possible route for medical reasons. As we passed through Ororoo we came across Wendy & Greg who popped out of a street in front of us, only to have the suspension on one of the caravan wheels fail, resulting in clouds of blue smoke a few seconds later. I was able to let them know by radio. We left them waiting for a mechanic & continued on to Broken Hill free camp, only to have G & W roll up soon after, having changed their plans due to weather. So we are in the same camp again tonight.. I don't think I will be doing another blog entry before arriving home, but I,m not sure.

Heading out of Port Augusta with clouds hanging around the Flinders ranges.

The top of Mt Ohlsson, a fairly hard climb for someone with a recently broken foot.

Woomera to Port Augusta.

A couple of days in Port Augusta are much appreciated, as it is quite civilised.
We were able to shop at Coles, Woolworths & Big W & stock up on some much needed supplies, refill an empty gas cylinder, rotate ute tyres & buy Diesel at less than $2.05 per litre
( $9.33 per gallon ) Topped off with a very nice evening meal at Ians' Western Hotel.
We have some current personal issues which may govern our future plans & travel directions, but we are basically starting to head for home indirectly. Tomorrow we head for Wilpena pound in the Flinders ranges.

Looking out over the arid desert country heading South from Woomera to Port Augusta.

A little texture in the landscape.

Water pipeline following the highway North toward Woomera.

The old & new road bridges over the inlet at Port Augusta.

We watched this dude try to launch this tinny for over half an hour, it had grown onto the rollers of the trailer, the car was in the salt water way too deep. When he finally got it in the motor wouldn't run properly.

The local lookout was an old steel water tank with holes cut in the side.

View from inside the water tank to the solar station tower at Port Augusta.

Port Augusta from the water tank, with the Flinders ranges in the back ground.

                                                                 Yvonne inside the tank.

                                                                            Inside the tank.

                                                                    Heading back down.
