On The Road At Last...

I've said it before & I will re affirm it now. The most stressful part of any trip is the preparation. This one has been no different.
Now we are on the road, it feels great, just like coming home. An easy day had, with a lovely social evening.
Nothing very exiting to report today. Just a few introductory pictographs.

The final morning before departure, a last ride. It was quite cold & Yvonne has her jacket on.

A little later on the same ride, Yvonne has warmed up & the coat is off.
Taken from the pilots seat.

Mandatory departure shot taken seconds before leaving. Camera timer on a rock

We made it all the way to apple Tree Creek, where we met up with the others for smoko & to continue the journey in convoy.

The official debate to decide where we are going.

Calliope River free camp, first stop after a very easy days travel.

Pano of part of the free camp.

As above, crossing the old highway bridge, now a foot bridge. As you can see this bridge is thousands of years old. Probably built by reptilian dinosaurs.

Don't see many of these signs. "No Dancing On Octopusses"

Two birds on a really small island.

Sue supplied a bottle of vino with a story behind it, to celebrate our first day
